Behind the Scenes Senior Portrait - Weston English | Emily McGonigle Photography
So I got to do something new recently... I photographed my first MALE high school senior since moving to Nashville in 2013!
I've had a ton of fun photographing all of the ladies I've previously worked with, but since my branding does have that fashion element to it I generally attract mostly female clients. So when I got an inquiry to work with my first male client since moving to Nashville, I was excited!
Weston is a high school senior at Centennial High School, and when I met with him and his mother for his pre-shoot consultation, I wasn't sure how receptive to the idea of having a hair and makeup artist on set he would be. But it turned out that he was open to it, especially after I explained how male musicians, actors, and models always have hair and makeup on set.
So the day of Weston's shoot, we all met at Westlight studios for Chelsea Blair to work her magic. Unlike with the girls, the hair and makeup for the guys isn't quite as involved.
All Chelsea really had to do for Weston was apply concealer in some areas, and apply a light powder.
After Chelsea was finished, Weston and my team all crossed the street to take Weston's photos. It was a gorgeous day outside! It was certainly warm, but it was beautiful. Armed with powder to remedy face shine, and bug spray, we walked through various parts of the park stopping to take photos along the way.
At one point Chelsea decided to practice her "poised lady" skills with the bug spray.

What can I say? We have fun. Haha.
Overall the shoot was very chill and relaxing and we got some really great photos of Weston.
