We Can Still Make Your Senior Year Special | Emily McGonigle Photography
The end of the school year is supposed to be an exciting time for seniors. Unfortunately, this time around it’s probably causing more stress to students than the usual pressure of needing to pass final exams and waiting on acceptance letters to college.
Students are out of school, but they’re not able to hang out with their friends, or go do the fun things they normally would during time off. Threats of canceled proms, canceled graduation ceremonies, and other memorable senior year events are looming.
This just isn’t how it was supposed to be.
For that, I’m sorry and I sympathize with the feelings you may be having through all of this.
On the plus side… this means you have more time to make that TikTok video EXTRA hilarious and awesome.
Okay, but for real, I understand how frustrating it must all be, and while it’s just a small gesture, I want to do something to help make your senior year special, despite all of this.
If you are in the class of 2020 and you haven’t yet had your senior portraits done, I am offering you a $300 product credit towards your order following your session.
This means, by the time all is said and done, your session fee will be waived.
All you have to do is contact me to inquire about a session, and send proof that you are in the class of 2020. From there, we’ll set up a video consultation and get to work on planning your session!
In the meantime, here are some ways to keep yourself occupied and still hang out with your friends (separately), while we’re all waiting this out at home.
Google Hangout/FaceTime group chat while sipping your favorite home-brew coffee. Who said you can’t still have your coffee-shop hangouts? You just… you know, have to be creative with the “coffee shop” part.
Pick up a Multi-Player video game, and jump on Discord for group voice chat so you can strategize together. Like something fast paced? Overwatch (PC/Xbox/Playstation/Switch) just announced a new character! Want something a little more chill? Stardew Valley (PC/Mac/Switch) has multi-player capability as well!
Duet on TikTok. I’m not even about to pretend to know how this works. I just know it does. 😂
Plan a Netflix Party movie night. I don't know how long this has been a thing, but I just found out about it, and it’s pretty cool. All you have to do is 1. Have a Netflix account (who doesn’t these days?) 2. Download Google Chrome 3. Download the Netflix Party extension 4. Get your movie popcorn ready. 5. Profit? No wait. Enjoy the movie with your friends via synchronized video and a live chat. That’s the one I meant.
What are some other ways you’re keeping busy and connected with your friends right now? Leave your ideas below in the comments!
